HE Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan inspected ABAK AGRO WASSERSTEIN Asparagus Plantation No 0532 which is operated by iCsquared GmbH and ABAK AGRO ALLIANCE MMC in Aghstafa region and became interested in the work carried out on the cultivation of asparagus. It was underlined that asparagus is an alternative and new field with high market value in Azerbaijan.
CEO and agronomist of operator-company provided information on agrotechnical methods used in the plantation, planting materials used, productivity, disease control measures and market access and export opportunities. It was noted that asparagus is known as a high-income, especially export-oriented product with low water consumption. In this regard, it is planned to expand the asparagus plantations in the years to come.
The meeting discussed the company's future plans, increasing asparagus plantations, expanding support mechanisms for local farmers, and implementing measures to disseminate scientifically based planting technologies. At the same time, views were exchanged on expanding artichoke and peanuts plantations in Aghstafa region within the framework of cooperation with local farmers.
